Growing a Sustainable and Seasonal English Flowers

26 March @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

£2

We welcome James Grieg who runs Stem and Green Flower Farm near Winchester, and is passionate about growing locally and saving all those ‘carbon miles and footprints’ caused by supposed cheaper flowers from abroad. James’ subject highlights his firm view that “We believe there is an alternative”, and he will prove to us that this is a fact. His mission is to “make sustainably-grown cut flowers accessible to everyone. Beautiful, scented and seasonal flowers grown in a way that is kind to the environment. High Street floowers have one of the largest carbon footprints per £1 spent. Most are flown in, or grown with chemicals and heat. This has a profound impact on the environment”.
