SUMMARY:HAYLING ISLAND HORTICULTURAL COMMUNITY FAIR AND SUMMER SHOW
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to report that the plans for our annual Summer Show and Community Fair are now well advanced and we are excited about our new home at The Black Barn on Manor Road.   Our Horticultural Show\, offers a wide range of classes to enter for fruit and veg\, handicrafts and cookery\, flower arranging and photography\, and in addition wide range of options for our Junior Members. For further information please visit our website www.hihs.org.uk.    This year we have also have a wide selection of craft stalls\, community groups and local businesses\, alongside our popular plant stall and tombola.    Our performance area will offer entertainment throughout the afternoon by local singing and dancing groups. At this early stage we can announce the return of the popular Island Shanty Singers and the Hayling Baton Twirlers.  An exciting new development will be workshops in flower arranging by Harbourside Flowers and Caring for Your Roses by Liz Sawday from Apuldram Roses.

SUMMARY:Sway Open Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Sway Open Gardens is organised every other year by Sway Gardening Club in aid of Oakhaven Hospice.  For 2026 there will be over 18 amazing gardens and open spaces of all shapes\, sizes and styles to visit throughout the village.    Plant stalls\, refreshments and entertainment will all be part of this wonderful day.  Parking is at the Jubilee Fields Recreation Ground\, SO41 6BA where tickets will also be available to purchase on the day (£10.00).  Advance tickets available from Sway Post Office or on the Oakhaven Hospice website  (www.oakhavenhospice.co.uk) at £8.00.  A complimentary bus service will be touring the village.
