Talk: Apples – speaker Chris Bird
The Romsey Organic Gardeners (TROG) invite you to come along to a talk by Chris Bird from Sparsholt College on Apples. Chris will discuss growing apples while coping with current challenging growing conditions. There will also be a variety of apples to taste and if you have a surplus, please bring along some of your apples for others to try. Chris will also run an “apple cultivar identification” surgery for anyone with an unknown apple tree in their garden. For this, please bring along up to six fruits per tree, showing the range of size and colouring, together with some leaves and a short stem, up to a foot long. Plus, a couple of images of the whole tree, if possible, as will assist with identification.
Visitors are welcome (pay £2.00 per person on the door) refreshments are included (tea, coffee and biscuits). There is usually plenty of parking in the Crosfield Hall car park and it is free to park after 4pm. The full address for sat navs is: Crosfield Hall, Broadwater Rd, Romsey SO51 8GL
