The Hampshire Federation of Horticultural Societies organises three annual competitions.
Allotment Competition
This Allotment Competition is open to all members of affiliated Societies and consists of two Sections: 1 – Plots of less than 10 rods and 2 – Plots of 10 rods and over. 10 rods are equal to 250 sq m or 300 sq yds. Allotments are assessed by official Judges of the Federation.
Peter Maunder Garden Competition
The Peter Maunder Garden Competition is open to members of affiliated Societies. There is no limit on the number of gardens each society may enter but all gardens must be planted by the entrants.
The Inter Society Quiz
The Inter Society Quiz is held on Federation Day in February, following the AGM. Teams can consist of 3 or 4 people, with societies entering more than one team if they wish.
Awards/Prizes: The winning team is presented with The SCATS Cup with the runners up receiving the Don Bishop Trophy.
