Making the Most of What You Have by Ben Pope

An inspirational talk on how to get the most out of our gardens, whatever the size or space.
The talk will be split into two sections the first being a virtual tour of The Working Garden, touching on design principles, planting styles and general upkeep of the garden.
The second section focuses on specific factors including: increasing production, time and maintenance efficiency, planting health and combinations as well as future planning and development.
Ben has been in horticulture for 22 years, and is currently leading a team to maintain and develop a private garden in West Sussex which includes a large walled kitchen garden, herbaceous borders, shrubberies, topiary, ornamental lawns, a floral meadow, water features, woodland and hedges. He has travelled to different countries, studying the various flora and garden styles. Alongside his role as Head Gardener, Ben enjoys lecturing at the Chelsea Physic Garden for The English Gardening School and West Dean College of Art and Conservation. He has recently gained the RHS Master of Horticulture and is a member of the RHS Herbaceous Committee.
