Hardy Plant Society, Hampshire Group – My National Plant Collections – Asclepias, Calycanthus, Roscoea and Rubus – Speaker Barry Clarke
Barry is a passionate horticulturalist and botanist, and has been interested and involved in collecting and conserving plants for over 20 years. He started with a small nursery on the Isle of Wight and then joined the Hillier Gardens, where he is now the botanist and plant records officer.
Away from work he manages 5 National Plant Collections (4 will be on display at the meeting) of his own and has been a collection holder and Plant Heritage member since 2004. His plants are grown within his garden at home and a small woodland close by. He has promised to bring some Plants for Sale too.
